We’ve heard the phrase, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and it usually seems to be true. So why do Americans and parents not provide a good example for their friends, family and kids when it comes to body and health? For fitness, exercise and nutrition, setting a high standard and becoming a role model for others is a great way to pay it forward and get others in your life on the right path to a long, healthy and comfortable life.
It’s no surprise obesity is a growing epidemic in the United States. We simply do not educate others and ourselves enough on the dangers of poor nutrition and lack of exercise. For kids especially, the revolving door of obesity and sickness is passed along to future generations. Here’s the bright side. You can make a change now and make sure the youth and future generations are healthy, simply by providing a good example of a healthy lifestyle.
Take in home training for example. If you’re a parent and your kids see you working hard, making a commitment to get in shape and stay in shape, they are more likely to follow the same example, learn from you and continue the same process themselves. They may want to get involved, because they see it working for you and you’re enjoying it. You’re happier, more energetic, fun and active with them.
Perhaps the biggest way to pay it forward to our kids is with nutrition. For the most part, kids don’t make the decisions on what they want to eat. Parents do. Educating them from the get go and setting them up for a healthy eating lifestyle will make a huge difference down the line when they become adults.
Still unsure how obesity affects kids and just how dangerous it’s becoming. Check out this info below. So first educate yourself on how to live a healthier lifestyle so you can break the cycle.
