So you over did it on Christmas did you?
Don’t beat yourself up.
You may notice that the day after your splurge you are having major cravings for sugar and salty foods…or maybe everything in sight!
This is due to the sugar and salt in the foods you ate wreaking havoc in your blood stream. Your blood receptors are expecting nutrients because of the faulty signals they received from all that processed salt and sugar.
So what do you do now?
My protocol to get back to “normal” is as follows…
- Drink a ton of water!
- Try some Coconut Water…Nature’s Gatorade!
- Drink one glass of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar (regulates blood sugar).
- Eat plenty of “clean” foods and veggies.
- If the food/ sugar cravings are really bad, eat some fruit or make a smoothie with fruit and veggies.
- Exercise!
You will find that if your diet was clean before the indulgence you will start to feel better from your holiday hangover in no time.
There are plenty of other things that work too. Do you have your own recovery process? If so, what is it?
Happy Holidays!
